Buds School - Foundation Stone Laying

          Buds School, an educational institution in Thrikkakara Municipality, is being built under the 2026-27 annual plan, aiming for the holistic growth and social inclusion of children with disabilities. The new building is designed to provide an environment conducive to education, training, rehabilitation, and self-sufficiency. This initiative is an important milestone for the welfare of children with disabilities and for empowering their families. Working in cooperation with the municipality, Buds School offers children with disabilities the opportunity to be brought into the mainstream of society. Thrikkakara Municipality is taking the lead in building a society based on equality, inclusion, and compassion. The foundation stone of Buds School, being built near the 40th ward NGO Quarters Flats, was laid on 07/07/2026 at 10:30 AM by the honorable Minister of Local Self-Government, Sri K. M. Shaji. In the event chaired by respected MLA Mrs. Uma Thomas, respected MP Sri. Hibi Eden was the chief guest.

Inauguration of surveillance cameras

The inauguration of 130 CCTV surveillance cameras in Thrikkakara Municipality was performed by Thrikkakara ACP P S SHIJU under the chairmanship of the Chairperson of the Municipality, Mrs. Radhamani Pillai, on 23/08/2025 at 12.00 noon. Vice Chairman T G Dinoop, Development Standing Commitee Chairperson Smitha Sunny, Welfare Standing Commitee Chairperson Suneera Firoz, Health Standing Commitee Chairman Varghese Plassery, and Public Works Standing Commitee Chairperson Razia Nishad, Ward Councilors Unni Kakkanad, Rashid Ullambili, A A Ibrahimkutty, V D Suresh, Shana Abdu, Ansia Hakeem, Anitha Jayachandran, Subaida Razak, Suni Kailas, Ajuna Hashim and opposition leader Chandrababu, attended the function. Vice Chairman T G Dinoop welcomed the meeting and Clean City Manager Sateesh Kumar T K proposed the vote of thanks.

The municipality is implementing the project by selecting an agency with a cost of Rs 70 lakhs and maintenance for three years. As part of the Malinyamuktha Navakerala campaign, the municipality is implementing this project in collaboration with the Thrikkakara Police to identify waste deposits as per government guidelines and along with this, to detect the increasing drug-related crimes in the city.

The inauguration of the Thrikkakara Municipality - District Collectorate Kakkanad Biomethanation Plant was performed by the Hon'ble Minister for Local Self-Government, Shri M. B. Rajesh on 04/08/2025 at 1 pm. waste-free municipality

As part of the Malinya muktha Nava Kerala, Thrikkakara Municipality was declared a waste-free municipality on 07/04/2025 at the municipality premises by District Collector NSK Umesh IAS. The function, presided over by Municipality Chairperson Smt. Radhamani Pillai, was attended by Vice Chairman Sri. Abdu Shana, Health Standing Committee Chairman Sri. Varghese Plassery, and Welfare  Chairperson Smt.Suneera Firoz, Development Chairperson Smt. Smitha Sunny, Councilors Sri. Unni Kakkanad, Sri. CC Viju, Smt. Haseena Ummer, Municipality Secretary Sri. TK Santhosh, AXE Sri. Shiju CS, Health Inspector Sri. Madhukamar, Track President Sri. Salim Kunnumpuram, Municipality officials, employees, and members of the Green Karma Sena. Certificates were distributed to individuals and schools in the municipality who have carried out innovative and exemplary work in waste management.

Pleasure Home is being built in Thrikkakara

A day care home is being built for the elderly in the city council area to have fun and share their stories and worries. The Thrikkakara Municipality is constructing a new building adjacent to the old municipal library building in Mavelipuram ward and preparing a day care center. The construction of the day care center was inaugurated by Thrikkakara MLA Uma Thomas. Following the opening remarks by Chairperson Radhamani Pillai, ward councillor Unni Kakkanad, standing committee chairperson Suneera Firoz, and other councillors Rashid Ullampilly, CC Viju, VD Suresh, Shana Abdu, Haseena Ummer, Shimi Murali, AXE Shiju, MS Anilkumar Babu Antony, Prabhukumar, Subair Ullampilly, Siddhi Kizhekkara ADS Chairperson Shobhi Ramachandran and Contractor Latheef Kizhekkara spoke.
